Mason N. Williams

Stonehold Band

I recently auditioned and was accepted to Belmont University School of Music in Nashville, TN. Although I will not be attending Belmont, the audition was an excellent experience for me. I played "Autumn Leaves" for my jazz piece and followed with "Hurry Up" by Paul Gilbert for my personal selection. I am attending Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri this fall.

My band, Stonehold is on temporary hold since the Bassist (Dusty Williams) and the drummer are both off to college.

I am 18 and have been playing guitar for about 11 years now.

Why do I post videos on YouTube?

The reason I go through all the work of recording video's and then putting them up on YouTube is to improve my playing skills.

Some people don't think it's worth having to listen to all the stupid comments by people who think they are experts, but there ARE some people on YouTube that truly are experts and willing to give good constructive criticism. There's not a lot of them, but the few good ones that are out there make it worth putting up with the morons.

I know my skills have really improved since I've been posting, so it does work!

My guitar teachers are Troy Clark and Randy Bahr and my piano teacher is Ms. Brown. Thanks to all of you!

The band Stonehold had a great year in 2009! We won the Six Flags Battle of the Bands on Oct. 31, 2009. We have a professionally recorded Demo CD that has 3 of our original songs on it.

Stonehold BIO:
Emerging from the halls of St. Dominic High School, four talented individuals coalesced into what is now known as the band Stonehold.

The sound they created resonates back to the classic rock era from the late 70s and early 80s. Unmistakably, you can hear the influences of Rush, Black Sabbath and the modern Progressive Rock band Dream Theater.

The synergy between Stoneholds deep and powerful lyrics and their hard driving rhythms create a sound that is uniquely their own with a hint of the classic influence that transcends conventional boundaries of rock.
